Follow this step-by-step walkthrough to access, register, and order from Darknet DarkMatter securely. This guide covers everything from Tor setup to finalizing your first escrow transaction.

Environment Setup

Before attempting to access the network, ensure you have the correct software installed.

  • Download the Tor Browser only from the official Project website.
  • Install the browser and launch it.
  • Navigate to the Shield Icon (Settings) -> Privacy & Security.
  • Set the Security Level to "Safer". This disables JavaScript on non-HTTPS sites and protects against common browser fingerprinting techniques.

Accessing DarkMatter Market

Enter the verified V3 onion address into your Tor Browser address bar. Do not use indexes or random wiki links.

Captcha System: Upon loading, you will face a DDoS protection gate. This may present as rotating circles, a clock captcha, or matrix text. Solve the puzzle to proceed to the login screen.

Account Creation

Click "Register" on the homepage. Fill in the details following these strict guidelines:

  • Username: Choose a random string unrelated to your real identity or other online handles.
  • Password: Use a strong alphanumeric password generated by a password manager.

CRITICAL SECURITY STEP

The system will generate a Mnemonic Phrase or PIN Code. You MUST save this offline immediately. If you lose your password, this is the ONLY way to recover your account. Support cannot reset passwords without it.

PGP Setup & 2FA

Never operate on a market without encryption.

  1. Generate a PGP Key pair using GPG or Kleopatra on your local machine.
  2. Navigate to your Account Settings -> Security.
  3. Paste your ---BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY--- block into the field.
  4. The market will ask you to decrypt a message to prove ownership. Decrypt it and paste the code.
  5. Enable 2FA: Once verified, enable Two-Factor Authentication. You will now need to decrypt a message every time you login, securing your account against password theft.

Deposit Funds

Go to the Wallet tab in the navigation bar.

Monero (XMR)

Recommended for privacy. Requires 10 network confirmations (~20 mins) before balance reflects.

Bitcoin (BTC)

Standard option. Requires 2 network confirmations (~20-60 mins) before balance reflects.

Note: Addresses are one-time use only. Never deposit to an old address.

Making a Purchase

Browse listings and verify Vendor Trust Levels (Level 1-10) and recent feedback.

  • Select your item and click "Buy Now".
  • On the order page, you will see a text box for shipping notes.
  • Import the Vendor's PGP Public Key into your PGP software.
  • Write your address in a text editor, encrypt it with the Vendor's Key, and paste the ---BEGIN PGP MESSAGE--- block into the order notes.

NEVER SEND YOUR ADDRESS IN PLAIN TEXT.

Finalization & Escrow

Once the order is placed, funds are held in Escrow. The vendor does not have the money yet.

  1. Vendor accepts and ships the order.
  2. You receive the physical package.
  3. Inspect the goods. If satisfactory, log in and click "Finalize Order". This releases the funds to the vendor.
  4. If the item does not arrive, click "Dispute" before the auto-finalize timer runs out (usually 14 days).
WARNING: Never "Finalize Early" (FE) unless you trust the vendor explicitly. If you finalize before receiving the product, you lose all escrow protection and cannot open a dispute.
